About
Sera Wyn is a Welsh Artist working in Cardiff. Her practice focuses on highlighting beautiful natural forms through old photographic techniques such as cyanotypes and Lumen prints. This cameraless photography takes Anna Atkins’ botanical imprints as a touchstone, considering how through experimentation with the medium, contemporary flora and fauna can be shared and celebrated.
Bringing together invasive species, native flowers and abundant plant life, the work questions the migratory nature of different plant species, investigating car park plant life with the same curiosity as deep forest specimens. These resulting abstract illustrations represent a hinterland feeling between urban and rural that tells a story of the changing way that plants play a part of our many landscapes.
